Zacchaeus

Scripture Passage: Luke 19:1-10

This short man, Zacchaeus, was hated by a lot of people because he collected tax from them and was very rich because he took so much of their money. Even though he was short, he had heard about this Jesus and did not want to miss seeing Him. So he climbed up in a tree to see over the crowd. People were amazed that God wanted to know such a bad man, but Jesus wants to know all of us, no matter what we have done in the past.

Questions:
1. What was Zacchaeus' job?
He was a tax collector.
2. Why did he climb up into the tree?
Because he was a short man and wanted to see God.
3. Because of Jesus' visit, what was Zacchaeus going to do?
Give half of his possessions to the poor and to anyone he had cheated, four times the amount.

Memory verse: John 15:5
Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. (NLT)
