Scripture Passage: Ephesians 5:21-33

The Bible teaches us the best way to have and keep a good marriage. It is based on the kind of love that puts the other person first. It means to value that person highly. This is the kind of love that God has for us. It made Him willing to sacrifice His Son for us. This kind of love does not try to satisfy our own desires but those of the other person. It builds good relations with each other.

Questions:
1. How should Spirit-controlled believers relate to one another?
They should submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
2. How is the relationship of Christ to the church an example to wives?
As the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
3. How should husbands love their wives?
Husbands should love their wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her. Husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies.
