                   Women

                    Scripture: Luke
                  24:1-9

These women were going to anoint Jesus' body with spices. They
knew the body had been put in a tomb and sealed by a large
round stone. Mark 16:3 tells us that they wondered how
they could move the stone so they could reach the body. Not
only was the stone moved for them, but the body was not there.
He had risen from the dead. As Peter said in his sermon
on the day of Pentecost, "But
God raised Him from the dead, because it was impossible for
death to keep its hold on Him."

                  Questions:
                  1. Why were the women going to the tomb?
                  They were going to
                  anoint Jesus' body with spices.
                  2. Why did they not find His
                  body?
Because He had risen from the dead.
                  3. After the angel had told
them that Jesus had risen from the dead, what did the women
                  do?
They went and told Jesus' disciples and friends.

                  Memory verse: 1
                  Peter 1:3
All honor to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for it is by his boundless mercy that God has given us the privilege of being born again. Now we live with a wonderful expectation because Jesus Christ rose again from the dead. (NLT)
