The Second Coming of the Lord

Scripture Passage: Matthew 24:40-44

These verses are a warning never to become so involved with worldly affairs, however worthy, that we forget eternity. We must remember that there is a God and life and death are in His hands, and when His call comes at morning or midday or at evening we must be ready. We must repent of our sins because we do not know the time that the Son of God will return to Earth. Jesus said that He would come like a thief in the night, when we least expect Him. We must have our sins forgiven so they will not stand against us on that Day.

Questions:
1. Why do we have to be on our guard?
Because we do not know when Jesus will come.
2. Do we know when a thief will come?
No.
3. What does Jesus say we must be?
We must be ready for His return.
