Scripture Passage: Acts 6:8-15, Acts 7:54-60

Stephen was the first Christian to be killed for believing in Jesus.  Since then there have been many Christians who have died because of their faith. We can read about many of these martyrs in the book of Acts. People are still being put in jail and executed for believing in Jesus in some countries. In China, Indonesia and other nations, Christians are suffering and dying for their faith. We need to pray for our fellow-Christians in those countries.

Questions:
1.Who was the first Christian martyr?
Stephen.
2. Why was he killed?
Because he believed in Jesus as the Son of God.
3. What should we do about those Christians being killed in our own time?
We should pray for them.
