Spider

Scripture Passage: 2 Peter 3:17-18

Like a spider spins a web to catch flies, Satan tries to catch us in his traps. He sends many temptations across our paths. Perhaps he sends someone who makes us very angry. If we do not forgive that person, but hold on to our anger, we get caught by Satan's web of unforgiveness. Jesus said that if we did not forgive, God would not forgive us. (Mark 11:25 and Matthew 6:15) If we ask Jesus, He will help us forgive our enemies. Then we can escape from Satan's web. Every temptation we overcome makes us stronger and helps us grow as Christians.

Questions:
1.Why did Peter instruct his readers to be on their guard?
Because lawless men were influencing them to error.
2. How can Christians be on their guard against error?
By making sure that any teaching we receive agrees with what the Bible teaches.
3. What final instruction did Peter leave with his readers?
Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Memory verse: 1 Corinthians 10:13
And God is faithful. He will keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can't stand up against it. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you will not give in to it. (NLT)
