Paralysed Man

Scripture Passage: Mark 2:3-12

The man they brought to Jesus could not get out of his bed. He was paralysed and could not help himself, but he had good friends who had faith in Jesus. They were determined men and refused to be discouraged by their difficulty in getting the man to Jesus. First of all, Jesus dealt with the man's sins, then He healed his body. If we carry our relatives and friends to Jesus in prayer, we must not let ourselves be discouraged and quit praying, but we must continue to bear them up in prayer until we see them saved and healed as those men did for their friend.

Questions:

1. Why didn't the man come to Jesus himself?
He could not even get out of bed; he was paralysed.
2. What did they have to do to get him to Jesus?
They had to take up the roof and let him down through it.
3. What should we do about our relatives and friends who need salvation and healing?
We should continue to carry them to the Lord in prayer and not get discouraged by the circumstances.

Memory verse: James 5:15
And their prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make them well. And anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven. (NLT)
