Mother

Scripture Passage: Matthew 1:18-25

The mother of Jesus was called Mary. The birth of Jesus was very special because Mary was still a virgin when He was born. God had by a miracle made Mary pregnant. The most important event in the history of the world was that God sent His Son in the form of a baby. This child would be called "Jesus", which means "God saves". When He grew up His mission was to give His life to save people from their sins.

Questions:
1. What happened to Mary while she and Joseph were engaged?
She became pregnant through the Holy Spirit.
2. Why did Joseph change his plans to break his engagement with Mary?

Because He would save His people from their sins.

Memory verse: John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. (NLT)
