Millet

Scripture Passage: Luke 8:11-15

When we plant millet in a farm we have to wait quite a long time for it to be ready for harvest. Jesus says in John 4:36 that if we plant the seed of God's word in our hearts, the harvest we reap from that planting is eternal life. Sometimes when we tell others the good news about Jesus, they do not seem to receive what we say. We pray and hope that they will come to know Christ, but the seed we planted does not seem to be growing in them. Just as we need to be patient and wait for the millet to grow and ripen, so we need to wait and pray, trusting God for the harvest.

Questions:
1. What should we plant in our hearts?
We should plant the word of God.
2. What is the harvest we shall reap?
We shall have eternal life.
3. What should we do if people seem to reject the gospel?
We should pray and wait for God to give us the harvest.

Memory verse: Galatians 6:9
So don't get tired of doing what is good. Don't get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time. (NLT)
