Scripture Passage: Luke 22:47-51

Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss. Do you pretend to show an act of love to people while causing them harm? When Peter cut off the slave's ear, Jesus neither supported the use of force nor wanted Peter to defend Him. Just like Peter's action, our human effort has little or no effect on our enemies. Jesus was willing to suffer and die for our sins and Christians may face the enemy's hour and the powers of darkness.

Questions:
1. What did Peter do?
He cut off the High Priest's slave's ear.
2. What did Jesus do?
He healed the slave.
3. How did Jesus show His real love for us?
He suffered and died for our sins.

Memory verse: Romans 5:8
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.  (NLT)
