Husbands and Wives

Scripture Passage: Ephesians 5:21-28

The answer here lies in verse 21. This simple sentence sets the tone for all that follows. We are to submit to others because of our reverence for Christ. In other words, in any human relationship: husband and wife, child and parent, employer and employee, a third person is involved - Christ Himself. Paul asks us to conduct those relationships in the light of the Spirit of Christ.

Questions:
1. Why are we to submit to one another?
We are to submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
2. What are wives to do to their husbands?
Submit to them as to the Lord.
3. How are husbands to treat their wives?
Husbands are to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her.
