Scripture Passage: Luke 13:34

Jesus wants to protect His people just as a mother hen covers her chicks with her body to keep them from cold and danger. If we reject Him as our Saviour, we are like chicks who refuse to hide under their mother's wings. The hawk swoops down and carries them away to eat them. 1 Peter 5:8 tells us that the devil is like a roaring lion that is hunting for us to destroy us. Jesus supplied protection for us by giving His body as a sacrifice for our sin. If we accept Jesus as our Saviour and live for Him, we are protected from Satan.

1. What had the people of Jerusalem done to deserve Jesus' condemnation?
They had killed God's prophets and stoned those God sent.
2. To what did Jesus compare His concern for Jerusalem?
Like a hen gathers her chicks under her wings.
3. How did the people of Jerusalem react to Jesus' concern for them?
They rejected Him.

Memory verse: 2 Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful; he will make you strong and guard you from the evil one. (NLT)
