Fire

Scripture Passage: John 18:12-19, 25-27

It was night and Peter was cold. He joined the officers who had arrested Jesus so he could get warm. Peter was in the territory of the enemy, warming himself at the enemies' fire. That was a dangerous place to be. He became afraid that they might arrest him too, if they knew he was a follower of Jesus, so he denied His Lord. We need to avoid places and situations where we are open to temptation.

Questions:
1. What did Peter reply to the girl's questions?
He denied being one of Jesus' disciples.
2. How did Peter keep warm?
By standing around the fire with the servants and officers.
3. How many times did Peter deny Jesus?
3 times.

Memory verse: James 1:14

Temptation comes from the lure of our own evil desires. (NLT)
