Scripture Passage: Romans 4:7-8

When the first man and woman disobeyed God, they were immediately afraid of God's punishment. They took large leaves from a tree and tried to cover themselves so God would not see them. This was foolish, for God can see through anything. He sees right into our hearts and minds. (Matthew 12:25) The only covering that protects us is the blood of Christ, which was poured out on the cross for our sins.

1. How did Adam and Eve feel after they had disobeyed God?
They were afraid of God.
2. How did they try to hide from God?
They covered themselves with leaves.
3. What covering do we need to turn away God's punishment for our sin?
We need the blood of Jesus to cover us.

Memory verse: Romans 4:7
Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven,        whose sins are put out of sight. (NLT)
