Shepherd

Scripture Passage: 1 Peter 2 18-25

We should at all times respect those in authority. Jesus Christ left us an example for us to follow in His submission. We should realise that every ruler or authority is set up by God and will give an account to God. God is the shepherd and guardian of our souls. In His love He cares for us; in His power He protects us; and in His wisdom He guides us in the right way.

Questions:
1. Why should we submit to authority?
Because Jesus set us this example.
2. What will those in authority have to do?
Give an account of themselves to God.
3. Why should we follow in the steps of Jesus?
Because He suffered for us.


Memory verse: 1 Peter 2:21
This suffering is all part of what God has called you to. Christ, who suffered for you, is your example. Follow in his steps. (NLT)
