Birth of a Baby

Scripture: Matthew 1:18-25

God wanted Mary to have the support and protection of a husband and Jesus to have an earthly father so He assured Joseph that Mary's baby did not belong to another man. Jesus was the Son of God Himself. Joseph obeyed God's message and cared for Mary and Jesus. He even took Mary and the baby to Egypt to escape from King Herod who wanted to kill Jesus. Joseph taught Jesus how to be a carpenter like he was. (Mark 6:3)

Questions:
1. What did God want Joseph to do?

3. What can we learn from Joseph?
To obey God, even though obedience is costly.

Memory verse: Matthew 1:21
And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. (NLT)
