Anger

Scripture: James 1:19-22

Snails are known for moving so slowly.  We call the regular post "snail-mail" because it goes so slowly as compared to e-mail, which goes instantly by telephone. James says we should be quick to listen like e-mail and as slow as a snail to speak or get angry. We should certainly wait until our anger cools before we begin to speak. Things said in haste without due thought can be very destructive. Satan can use us if we get angry and speak from our anger and not with love.

Questions:
1. What should everyone be quick to do?
We should be quick to listen.
2. What should we be slow to do?
We should be slow to speak or get angry.
3. Why should we be slow to become angry?
Because our anger does not bring about the righteous life God wants us to live.

Memory verse: Ephesians 4:26-27
And "don't sin by letting anger gain control over you." Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a mighty foothold to the Devil. (NLT)
